Particular caution is required in patients with preoperative lymphatic circulation disorders (malar pouch appearance in the morning upon waking) or in patients with thick skin with telangiectasias located at the level of the upper palpebral fold or along the lower orbital rim (festoons).
This video describes several examples, including edema of the lower eyelid developed following an upper blepharoplasty.
