Excision of a palpebral varix

gg

Varices are dilated vessels, purplish in color because they contain blood. They can be located on an eyelid, where they are very visible because the skin is very thin in this area, allowing the vein to be seen through it.

The use of sclerosing products usually used for varicose veins of the lower limbs is impossible because it is dangerous on the eyelids. However, it is possible to remove them using a Muller hook (of the smallest size) under local anesthesia.

It is a minimally invasive procedure that leaves no scar; the only difficulty is anatomically recognizing the vessel.
